What to look for when buying kukui oil
Not all kukui oils are equal. Here's what matters:
- Cold-pressed: Preserves the natural fatty acids and vitamins. Look for "cold-pressed" or "expeller-pressed" on the label.
- 100% pure: No added mineral oil, fragrance, or fillers. The ingredient list should say only "Aleurites Moluccana Seed Oil."
- Dark glass bottle: Protects the oil from light-induced oxidation. Amber or dark blue glass is ideal.
